After their impressive performance in the previous week, all eyes were on the Manila Eagles’ first match of the week. The Bangkok Titans were well aware of their opponent’s strengths and decided to ban Kassadin and Graves, the two champions that brought MLE victory last week.
The Manila Eagles made the first play of the day, stealing Maokai’s blue buff right off the bat. The early game was punctuated with a number of failed ganks but apart from that it was rather quiet. Only one lane held a distinct advantage over the opponent, Rebengga’s Shen dominated top lane against leah’s Vladimir.
The action picked up at the 14 minute mark when MLE attempted to take the dragon. BKT was able to intervene and pick off Alistar but were left with too little health to prevent MLE from grabbing the dragon.
The next clash came as both team gathered once again for the dragon, this time neither was able to come out ahead as each team traded three kills. As the game progressed MLE managed to pick up a slight lead by taking down turrets.
The key turning point of the game came when MLE decided to take baron. BKT was late to arrive and could not stop them in time. Despite being too late BKT made the move to engage and poor positioning cost them dearly in the ensuing battle that left them four men and an inhibitor short.
With the middle inhibitor down MLE was able to wait for opportunity to push the top lane as the super minions assaulted the middle. A great engage at the enemy base left them in the position to finish the game for the win.
Key Plays:
- MLE grabs the first dragon thanks to Kaigu’s devastating pokes as Kog’Maw
- MLE destroys BKT during a baron engagement, mainly because Maokai chooses to split from the rest of the team
