The picks and bans of game #55 were quite a shock as the Manila Eagles decided to go with a Nunu pick for their top lane, something that has rarely been seen. NIXWATER grabbed the first kill of the game by landing a bevy of extremely accurate skillshots on Kaigu. Seconds later though, IzE baited QTV into a gank by Misery giving MLE the second kill. NIXWATER then made the mistake of teleporting top to help but ended up arriving too late, giving MLE yet another kill.

At the top lane, QTV suffered against IzE because of the early kill and MLE capitalized on that by ganking the lane. SAJ responded by taking the first dragon while QTV was being ganked. Through the mid game, MLE decided to go with a strategy of ganking the top lane but this allowed SAJ to secure multiple dragons making the trade less worthwhile.

The first big engage of the match came at the 22 minute mark as both teams clashed at the dragon. MLE secured the objective but lost the fight in a 2 for 1 exchange. From the mid to the late game, both teams struggled to gain the upper hand but neither could do so. Slowly, however, SAJ’s late game combination of Irelia and Karthus started to grow stronger.

The key point of the match came as MLE got caught taking down a mid tower. The catch allowed SAJ to take the baron and plough through MLE with their late game team composition for the win.

Key Plays:

  • MLE takes the lead early on with a number of well executed ganks
  • The first major clash takes place at dragon with neither team coming out far ahead
  • SAJ drags the game allowing their late game team composition to gain full strength
