The first match of Week 8 kicked off with some aggressive play from SGS on the top lane, scoring first blood with a bold tower-dive from Kailing. With Tofu playing a late game champion, Irelia, SGS went with a strategy of controlling top lane and snowballing Tofu. The strategy paid off hugely and Tofu dominated the lane against MoNk3yZ who could only sit back and watch as his opponent grew stronger and stronger.

Seeing SGS’s focus on top lane, KLH tried to control the bottom area of the map by taking dragon and their strategy almost succeeded. KLH was about to take dragon until Epyonz failed smite allowing Equivocal to steal the objective with a clutch Howling Gale.

As the second dragon came up, both teams clashed again, KLH seemed to have the upper hand but d4rkness was able to turn the tides despite failing a flash. As the match wore on SGS took control over the map with excellent warding and dewarding allowing them to catch members of KLH one by one.

With their solid lead SGS decided to force a baron engage and KLH made a last ditch attempt to stop them. This resulted in the deaths of both Epyonz and MoNk3yZ, practically securing the win for SGS.

Key Plays:

  • Equivocal steals what should have been a free dragon for KLH with a  clutch Howling Gale
  • d4rkness fails a flash during a crucial teamfight but still manages to perform
  • SGS attempts a baron and KLH is forced to respond but are too weak to do so by then
