Match 42 of the GPL marked the debut of Poppy in the league. The Saigon Joker’s QTV picked yet another unconventional champion for the top lane in the form of the Yordle.

The early part of the game didn’t have much in terms of action with first blood only being drawn at the 7 minute mark by NIXWATER on leah. Following up on the kill SAJ was able to steal BKT’s blue buff giving leah a tougher time in the lane.

SAJ picked up the first dragon of the game but BKT caught them as they were retreating resulting in three casualties on each team. At this point SAJ had picked up a slight lead but BKT trailed very closely behind thanks to some successful ganks. BKT almost managed take the lead after Xeres made a great catch on Junie giving BKT two kills and the dragon.

The match turned hugely in SAJ’s favour when Rotee got caught away from the team near the dragon area. Junie immediately swooped in with Paranoia and a perfect ult by NIXWATER caught three members of BKT in Cassiopeia’s petrifying gaze. SAJ was able to score an ace and take dragon.

In an extremely bold move, QTV overextended behind enemy lines, luring the entire BKT team into a trap. Through the well-timed use of Diplomatic Immunity he was able to survive and give SAJ the opportunity to move in for the kill. With a lead of almost twenty thousand gold SAJ finished the game with little resistance from the Titans.

• SAJ takes the first dragon and both teams trade 3 kills
• SAJ catches Rotee as he lingers near the dragon area allowing them to score an ace
